The Salangtem Ward Yimden in Mokokchung town has initiated the establishment of two Anganwadi Centres within its jurisdiction. The first Anganwadi Centre was established at the Salangtem Ward community hall complex in November of 2023 while the second one was inaugurated today, 4 April 2024, located at Block-4, Salangtem Ward near the Mojabi futsal turf.
The dedicatory prayer for the Anganwadi Centre ‘B’ was offered by Rev Temsuwati Kichu, Associate Pastor of Mokokchung Town Baptist Church. It was constructed by the Salangtem Ward Yimden on a plot of land offered by the family of Ex-GB, N Yapang. The centres have been handed over to the Anganwadi workers. Prior to this, there were no Anganwadi Centres in Salangtem Ward, a major ward in Mokokchung town with over 700 households.
