The Divisional Forest Officer, Zunheboto Division, has issued a circular banning the sale of wildlife and their products in the district, including markets, roads, and highways, effective immediately.

The circular warned that any violation of this ban will attract strict penalties under Section 51 of The Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972. Offenders may face a fine of up to Rs. 25,000, imprisonment for up to three years, or both.

Divisional Forest Officer Obed Bohovi Swu has directed all municipal bodies, village councils, town committees, and student organizations to enforce the ban and create awareness for compliance.
