Salo Coffee Producer Company Ltd in collaboration with Atsi Jamir, an entrepreneur and proprietor of Farmer Square, who is also an SCA certified barista famously known as the ‘coffee lady of Nagaland’, organized a workshop for coffee farmers under Salo coffee company on Saturday, May 14, Alichen.
The resource person for the workshop was a special guest from New Delhi, Binny Varghese, who is a coffee consultant & Educator Q – Processor (Generalist) SCA Certified Barista. Varghese, whose expertise has been in the hospitality industry for 15 years and in the coffee industry for more than 8 years, shared his knowledge and experience to the farmers during the workshop. The workshop took place at one of the prominent farms in Alichen.
The resource person emphasized on post-harvest management, the different types of coffee processing, the importance of sorting and technical knowledge on storage as this stage of coffee production is crucial in bringing out the best quality coffee.
“It was an enriching session with an exposure about coffee management from an expert and also a significant step towards global market and finding a fair trade for coffee producers of this region,” an update from Salo Coffee Producers Company informed.
