The State Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute (SAMETI), Nagaland, Department of Agriculture, has been awarded the Best Performing SAMETI for training the highest number of rural youths and effectively implementing the Skill Training of Rural Youth (STRY) scheme during 2023-24 by the National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (MANAGE), Hyderabad.

Dr Watimongla Jamir, Director SAMETI and Principal, IETC, received the award during the National Workshop on Extension Strategies to Promote Skill Development of Rural Youth held at MANAGE, Hyderabad from July 11 to 12.

The STRY scheme, a skill-based initiative of the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India, is implemented by SAMETIs in association with the National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (MANAGE), Hyderabad. It aims to provide employable skill-based training to rural youths aged 18-40 years in agricultural and allied vocational sectors.
