The Sangtam Students’ Union Chümoukedima successfully organized a one-day career guidance program on 12 July 2025. The event was held at Sangtam Baptist Lithro, Chümoukedima.
The theme of the program was “Anchored in Purpose, Driven by Dreams.” The two invited resource persons were Longtili C Sangtam, an entrepreneur, and Konchem Thsingvi, Assistant Professor at Yingli College, Longleng.
Sangtam encouraged the students to first identify their strengths and understand themselves before choosing a career path. He said that while inspiration is good, true growth comes from understanding oneself. He reminded students that everyone has a different purpose and calling in life. Focusing on entrepreneurship, he offered personal mentorship to students who are interested. He also shared valuable lessons from his own entrepreneurial journey, including the importance of starting small, being consistent, and embracing challenges.
Thsingvi focused on the importance of academic planning. She encouraged students to develop good study methods, understand the scope of various subjects, and prepare well for exams. She also guided students on how to pursue higher education and prepare for competitive exams. She stressed the importance of discovering oneself and learning how to overcome life’s challenges.
The President of the Union, Tsapili, said the event was a great success and made a positive impact on all who attended. Students left the session feeling more confident, motivated, and clear about their future. The program helped participants align their interests with possible career paths, and encouraged a shift from confusion to purposeful career planning.
The presence of both resource persons brought together knowledge from the worlds of business and academics. Their talks inspired the students to chase their dreams while staying rooted in their purpose.
