How a Yimden collaborated with a local enterprise for the benefit of all

In a novel initiative to promote local entrepreneurship and at the same time benefit local consumers, Salangtem Ward Yimden in Mokokchung town has undertaken an experiential activity that might enthuse others to undertake similar collaborative projects. Salangtem Ward Yimden, in collaboration with Native Enterprises, Dimapur will be distributing domestic LED bulbs at more than 50% subsidized rates to residents of their ward, who had earlier made their pre-orders. Native Enterprises is a manufacturer of LED bulbs, marketing their products under the brand name “Sangwa” and the proprietor, Sodangsoba Jamir, is originally from Salangtem Ward, now residing in Dimapur.
The consignment of Sangwa LED bulbs in 9 watts and 7 watts, numbering more than a total of 900 bulbs, have reached the Yimden which was delivered to the doorstep by Native Enterprises, according to Lanuakum, chairman of Salangtem Ward Yimden. The MRP of a 9 watt LED bulb is Rs.170, while that of a 7 watt is Rs.150, but the proprietor had it delivered at Rs.80 and Rs.70 apiece, for the 9 watt and 7 watt LED bulbs respectively. The chairman of Salangtem Ward said that the LED bulbs will be delivered to the customers without any additional charges, in the interest of the welfare of the residents. “We are very grateful to Aso. He is a true son of the soil, a third generation citizen of the ward. His parents are residents of Salangtem Ward and he is one of us,” the chairman said of Sodangsoba. The chairman of Salangtem Ward Yimden also conveyed best wishes to Native Enterprises and wished success on its future endeavors.
