New Delhi, 3 July (MTNews): Sarbananda Sonowal, Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, and Minister of AYUSH in the Government of India, and former Chief Minister of Assam, welcomed Neiphiu Rio, Chief Minister of Nagaland, to his official residence in New Delhi. The meeting provided an opportunity for the two leaders to engage in a fruitful discussion on various aspects, including the development of inland waterways in Nagaland.

Sarbananda Sonowal took to Twitter to express his delight at hosting Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, stating, “Glad to receive Nagaland CM Shri @Neiphiu_Rio ji at my official residence in New Delhi. Had a good discussion on various aspects, including the development of inland waterways in the state.”

 

Meanwhile, CM Rio also took to twitter stating that he had a discussion on development initiatives and expressed his hope that they will continue working together for the progress of the State.

 

Inland waterways have emerged as a significant component of India’s transportation infrastructure, providing an efficient and environmentally friendly mode of transport for both goods and passengers. The development of inland waterways in Nagaland holds the potential to improve connectivity within the state, boost trade and commerce, and enhance the overall socio-economic development of the region.
