Mokokchung, March 6 (MTNews): State Bank of India (SBI) Mokokchung Region celebrated International Women’s Day in Aghunato on March 6. Around 230 women representing various SHGs attended the event.

According to a press release issued by Branch Manager SBI Aghunato, Joy Chandra Chakma AGM Regional Manager SBI Mokokchung Region in his address said that SBI organised the event to empower women. He encouraged the gathering to effectively use banking facilities not just for credit but for deposit purposes as well. He explained the various social security schemes like Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, Atal Pension Yojana and others.

 

He also remarked that the huge turnout is a sign that Aghunato SHGs are not just name sake SHGs but effective SHGs and encouraged the gathering to continue striving hard for the economic growth of the division and the state at large.

 

Pakon Phom ADC Aghunato also addressed the gathering and reaffirmed their continuous support to SHGs and the Bank towards economic uplift of the community and the state at large.

 

Vicky Mech, Chief Manager Credit SBI RBO Mokokchung explained various schemes available for SHGs and minutely clarified bank related doubts of the gathering.
20 In-principle Loan Sanction letters were issued to various SHGs amounting to an amount of Rs 83,50,000/-

 

The program was chaired by Benlo Thyu, Branch Manager SBI Aghunato, welcome note was delivered by Jafet Sumi, Block Programme Manager, Tokiye Block and words of gratitude delivered by Ellen Yeptho.
