Mokokchung, 20 July (MTNews): The State Bank of India Officers’ Association (NEC), Mokokchung Region, along with the AIBOC state unit, under the aegis of IMDH, Mokokchung commemorated the 55th Bank Nationalization Day in India with a series of charitable activities on Wednesday. The occasion saw the organization of a blood donation camp and a tree plantation drive at IMDH Mokokchung.
The inaugural program commenced with Com. Imtisanen Ao, CCM of SBIOA (NEC), delivering the opening remarks and extending a warm welcome to all the participants. The significance of the day was underlined as Lokho Peter, AGM of RBO Mokokchung, shed light on the pivotal role played by public sector banks since their nationalization in 1969, contributing significantly to the nation’s development across various economic sectors.
Dr Marina Yaden, Medical Superintendent of IMDH Mokokchung, commended the noble cause initiated by SBIOA. Dr Yaden emphasized the importance of blood donation and remarked that bankers were not only instrumental in nation-building but were also actively involved in saving lives through this selfless activity.
The blood donation camp garnered overwhelming support from the community, with a total of 20 units of blood collected during the day-long program.
Additionally, the participants actively engaged in a tree plantation drive at IMDH and the SBI Mokokchung Branch.
