Dimapur, 20 January (MTNews): Speaking at the grand launch of the Royaloak furniture brand today at Purana Bazar in Dimapur, former governor of Odisha and Goa SC Jamir urged the audience to be concerned about the state.

“If Nagaland is to advance and catch up with the rest of the world, let us all focus on one thing: concern for the state,” he remarked.

He asserted that there is total absence of ‘concern’ or ‘truth’ in society.

“There is total absence of communication, people are not telling the truth,” he observed, and added that “until and unless we strive to express and highlight the truth, Nagaland will remain in darkness.”

He then exhorted the younger generation to “wake up and redeem the people of this beautiful land of ours.”

The former governor also commented on the creation of new districts, claiming that Nagaland is now merely imitating other states.

“What kind of mentality has gone into the minds of the Naga people?” he asked, urging people to look forward.

“We should evolve a system where our governance should be effective and efficient. But today, we are imitating, imitating other states,” he remarked, adding that love, compassion, sympathy, and reconciliation are essential for Nagaland to have a peaceful and harmonious society.
