Mokokchung, August 17 (MTNews): An official of the power department has cautioned public over a text message that is going around which claims “Electric City power wDearill” will get “disconnected” because the “previous month bill was not updated.”
The SDO Electrical, Mokokchung Electrical Sub-Division, Er. Achanger Aier, has cautioned the public against the message. “The message is a scam,” Aier told Mokokchung Times, and added that the department will never issue such a message.
Meanwhile, he urged the citizens to consult the office before making any payments.
Here is an extract of the alleged scam text message:
“Dear Customer your Electric City power wDearillbe disconnected Tonight at 9.30pm from Electric City office because your previous month bill was not Update please immediately contact with our electricity officer 8768366466. Thanks you”
