Kohima, 27 April (MTNews): The Department of School Education, Nagaland has announced the commencement of new admissions for Class XI in all Government Higher Secondary Schools (GHSSs) across the state, starting from 29 April 2024. The department has issued several directives for strict compliance.

According to the notification, there will be a single Online Admission Portal for all GHSSs, accessible through the department’s website www.education.nagaland.gov.in. Students and parents can submit applications for schools and streams of their choice through this portal from 29 April to 1 May 2024. Applicants must upload copies of their HSLC Admit Card and Mark Sheet during the submission process.

While one student can apply for multiple schools and streams, those facing difficulties with the online facility can seek assistance from Common Service Centres under the Department of Information & Technology.

Alternatively, they may download the Admission Form from the portal and submit it to the respective schools by 1 May 2024.

Once the forms are accepted at schools, they will be included in the list of candidates submitted online, and the selection process will proceed accordingly. The list of selected candidates and a waiting list will be published on the GHSS Admission Portal by 3 May 2024, along with details of the Admission Fee.

Selected students are required to pay the Admission Fee offline to their respective schools from 3 to May 2024. Allocation of vacant seats to candidates from the waiting list will take place on 6 May 2024.

It’s important to note that submission of applications does not guarantee admission, as the selection will be based on merit and the intake capacity of the respective schools. Further details will be provided through the admission portal.

In addition to these directives, it was announced that Science Stream will be introduced at TMGHSS Kohima and GHSS Noklak from the current academic session.

Admissions to newly activated Government Higher Secondary Schools, GHSS Hakhusang in Tuensang and GHSS Lenrijan in Dimapur, will be done exclusively through offline mode.
