Wokha, July 28 (MTNews): Deputy Commissioner of Wokha, Ajit Kumar Ranjan IAS has promulgated prohibitory orders under Section 144 CrPC prohibiting assembly of 5 or more persons in the whole of Wokha town including all wards and perimeter of 5 kms around the town including the Vankhosung Mission Centre.
The order was issued on receiving information that “opposing groups of people are mobilizing and congregating in and around Wokha town, creating a likely situation of confrontation, thereby causing apprehension of breach of public peace and tranquility in Wokha town and neighboring areas.”
The order will be in force till 6:00 am of July 31. Police, security forces, magistrates on duty, fire and emergency services, health services, educational/financial institutions and government departments are exempted from the restrictions.
