Frontal organisations in Senapati district have decided to intensify their ongoing agitation, announcing stricter enforcement measures including closer monitoring of movement of essential commodities and tighter supervision of compliance on the ground.

In a joint statement, the Naga People’s Organisation (NPO), along with Tribe Hohos, the Senapati District Women Association (SDWA) and the Senapati District Students’ Association (SDSA) said the organisations unanimously resolved to “strengthen the ongoing agitation through more effective measures in every possible manner.”

As part of the decision, a Supervisor Committee has been constituted to monitor and supervise implementation of the agitation measures. The committee will oversee compliance and is tasked with preventing inter-district movement of commodities as part of the protest enforcement.

The organisations have appealed to the public to extend cooperation to the committee and maintain discipline in support of the collective movement. They also warned that any individual or group found violating the agitation directives would face “strictest possible action,” stating that no exceptions would be made.

They further urged all Naga villages in the district to maintain vigilance in their respective areas to ensure effective enforcement of the agitation.

The organisations said the agitation will continue until “justice is delivered” for six individuals referred to as Naga brothers who were allegedly killed following an incident at Leilon Vaiphei.
