The Wokha District Administration, Department of Social Welfare, and District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW) under Mission Shakti, in convergence with the District Sports Office and Youth Resource & Sports, organized a five-day Sepaktakraw coaching camp for girls from February 18 to 22, 2025, at Local Ground, Wokha. The coaching camp was organized to commemorate 10 years of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP).

The coaching camp is supported by the Department of Youth Resource & Sports (YR&S) in collaboration with the Wokha District Sepaktakraw Association (WDSA), with State Sepaktakraw coach Puleuo from YR&S serving as the main coach, assisted by one senior international player and two national players from SAI Dimapur.

Deputy Commissioner of Wokha, Vineet Kumar (IAS), speaking on the opening day, stated that the trainees enrolled in the camp are fortunate to receive guidance and training from experienced coaches who have represented the national and international levels. He added that opportunities in sports were limited in the past, but with advancements, various sports disciplines can now be pursued as professions and careers. He encouraged the trainees to remain dedicated, learn throughout the five-day camp, and strive for excellence to achieve their goals in life.

A total of 83 trainees are participating in the coaching camp—39 girls and 44 boys. The opening programme was chaired by Gender Specialist, DHEW, Merithung Lotha, while DSO & DYRO Libemo Jami delivered the introductory remarks.
