Legendary British rock band Def Leppard has kicked off its India tour with an electrifying performance in Shillong, while Nagaland-based Trance Effect has delivered a high-energy opening act, setting the tone for a landmark night of rock music.

The concert, produced and promoted by BookMyShow Live, brought together nostalgia, legacy, and high-octane musicianship, drawing an enthusiastic crowd. Trance Effect opened the evening with a commanding performance, playing tracks such as “I’m On Your Side”, “More Love”, and “Clowns”, energising the audience and building anticipation.
The band had already made an impression during the soundcheck, where Phil Collen was seen interacting with guitarists Tako Chang and Temsujungba Jamir, appreciating their sound and technical setup.
As Def Leppard took the stage, the atmosphere intensified, with the band delivering a powerful set featuring iconic songs including “Hysteria”, “Photograph”, “Rock of Ages”, “Animal”, “Foolin’”, and “Pour Some Sugar on Me”. Fans responded with loud cheers, turning the venue into a collective chorus.

Following the concert, Conrad Sangma invited Trance Effect to perform at a special gathering, where the band presented original tracks “Favourite Mistake” and “New Beginning”, further impressing attendees.

The Shillong concert marks a strong start to Def Leppard’s India tour, with upcoming performances scheduled in Mumbai and Bengaluru.
