Dimapur, 13 April (MTNews): Kikheto Sema, Commissioner and Secretary of the Department of Health and Family Welfare, stated that 65% of the department’s employees belong to the third and fourth grade and that the department has been grappling with a scarcity of technical employees.
He made the remark during a visit to the Christian Institute of Health Sciences and Research (CIHSR) and the Nagaland Police COVID Hospital, Chumoukedima, to assess the readiness for Covid-19 in the state today.
According to him, the number of third and fourth grade employees is excessive; hence a manpower rationalization committee has been put into place.
Sema also observed that the demand for dialysis is very high, with approximately 80 patients at Dimapur District Hospital and 90 patients in CIHSR, and thus he believes that the issue requires serious attention.
Sema also requested that officials and doctors discuss and research diseases that are prevalent in the state as they ‘need to supply where there is demand’.
During his visit to Covid- hospitals, he expressed satisfaction with the state’s preparations to fight Covid.
He also appealed to the administrators and doctors to prescribe Janaushadhi medicine (generic medicine) at least to the poor patients which is ‘cheap’ but of ‘good quality’.

Today, I went to the beach with my kids.
