Hundreds of people from diverse communities and churches, including members of the affected communities of Manipur, gathered at CT Square, Chümoukedima on Sunday evening for a heartening display of solidarity and prayer, seeking healing and peace for the troubled region.
The “Solidarity and Prayer Watch for Manipur” was organized by the Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR) in collaboration with the Nagaland Joint Christian Forum, Fellowship of Naga Baptist Churches, and Chümoukedima Town Baptist Pastor’s Fellowship.
Rev Dr Wati Aier, the Convenor of FNR, emphasized the significance of coming together with a sense of care, love, and shared humanity. He conveyed the collective longing for healing among the affected communities, emphasizing the transformative power of faith in a God who can bring new life even from the depths of despair.
As a symbol of remembrance for all those who lost their lives in the ongoing violence, representatives from both the ethnic communities of Manipur came forward and laid flowers.
The gathering participated in a prayer led by ordained ministers and FNR members, focusing on the wellbeing of the people of Manipur, and seeking divine intervention to bring an end to the strife and suffering.
