Kohima, 13 November (MTNews): The State Institute of Educational Management and Training (SIEMAT) released two noteworthy publications, namely, “A Study on the School Development Plan in Nagaland” and the “Report on the Project on Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Module & Diary for School Heads” on 13 November 2023. In addition, a video documentary titled “An Extra Mile” on GMS Jakhama was also released by Director SCERT, Kevirale-ü Kerhuo.

SIEMAT releases two books and a video documentary
Addressing the audience at the release event, Director Kevirale-ü expressed her excitement, commending the dedicated efforts of SIEMAT and the School Leadership Academy (SLA) Team at SCERT, led by Joint Director Achetla Ao. She emphasized the significance of the projects as tangible outcomes of their commitment.

Highlighting the alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, Kevirale-ü underscored the importance of lifelong learning and research to combat obsoleteness in knowledge, skills, and experience. The research conducted by SIEMAT on the School Development Plan (SDP) across 20 schools in Kohima was cited as a strategic initiative to improve the education system.
The Director urged the government to consider implementing the Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Module for school heads, emphasizing its potential benefits for the education system.

Recognizing the impact of documentaries in creating emotional connections and providing a human experience. She spoke about the video documenting the commendable contributions of the school head at Government Middle School Jakhama. She hoped it would serve as inspiration for schools across the state. The event saw the participation of SCERT staff and students from Government Middle School Jakhama. The vote of thanks was delivered by Reader SCERT, Benjungdenla Yaden.
