The flash floods and cloudbursts have caused a tragic disaster in the northeastern state of Sikkim, resulting in at least 53 fatalities, including 7 soldiers. Additionally, 27 bodies were found in the Teesta riverbed in neighboring West Bengal. More than 140 people are still missing, and thousands have been displaced.
