Mokokchung, 24 January (MTNews): So-Li-Sü Theatre, a group of theatrical artists dedicated to promoting the rich heritage of theatrical art, is set to mark its debut with their performance titled “Süngra.” The much-anticipated event is scheduled to take place at the Yimtsüngta Arok Sapang in Ungma on 27 January 2024 at 7:00 pm.
“Süngra” is a culmination of an 18-day residential workshop and the inspiration behind the play emanates from the artwork of Temjen, an artist whose creations were showcased during the Hornbill Festival. Drawing from Ao Naga folklore, the play delves into the ancestral belief that the Ao Naga people emerged from ‘Lungterok,’ translated as six stones.
“Süngra” will be a metaphoric and nonverbal, symbolic theatrical play that promises to captivate the audience, directed by Kilangtemsu Imsong.
So-Li-Sü Theatre is a self-organized and self-sponsored collective of young artists, comprising both professionals and learners. “Süngra” serves as a cultural ode, inspired by indigenous artistry, traditions, and folklore. The play is set to unfold over a span of 70 minutes, featuring the remarkable performances of 10 artists accompanied by the artistic assistance of 4 musicians and set crews.
There is clearly a bunch to realize about this. I feel you made some nice points in features also.
