Social activist Bendang Imsong has appealed to authorities for the prompt release of compensation under the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) for the year 2020–2021 for Mokokchung District.

In an open letter addressed to the Secretary, Home Department, Imsong highlighted that the Deputy Commissioner submitted the SDRF application forms on August 25, 2021, which were received by the Home Department on November 18, 2021. However, despite the passage of a significant amount of time, there has been no communication or update regarding the status of these applications.

A total of 208 application forms were submitted, distributed across various areas as follows: Mokokchung Sadar: 5; Ongpangkong: 177; Tuli: 4; Chuchuyimlang: 12; Kobulong: 1; Longchem: 1; Alongkima: 1; and Changtongya: 7

Given the critical nature of these funds for disaster relief and management, Imsong requested the urgent release of the compensation.

“Timely disbursement is essential for addressing the immediate needs and recovery efforts of the affected individuals and communities,” he said.
