Soul House Academy marked its annual event ‘Catharsis 0.2’ in tandem with Children’s Day celebration at the New School Campus in Chuchuyimpang with Chumlamo Humtsoe, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung, as special guest who delivered an inspiring address to the young attendees.
Drawing on the lives of two renowned footballers, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, Humtsoe shared stories of resilience and determination to motivate the students. He spoke of Messi’s challenges with growth deficiency and his journey to becoming one of football’s greatest players. He also highlighted Ronaldo’s decision to leave school at a young age to pursue his dreams, despite being diagnosed with tachycardia at 15. Using these examples, Humtsoe reminded the students that “a young person may face many challenges in life, but one should persevere and try their best to overcome those challenges.” He closed his message with a wish for all the children to grow up as responsible and contributing citizens of their town, state, and country.
Speaking with Mokokchung Times, Arenla Lemtur, the principal and administrator of Soul House Academy, expressed her thoughts on the event, saying, “Catharsis is a beautiful release of all the hard work we’ve put in throughout the year.” She explained that Catharsis has become a cherished annual tradition, combining their dedication with a joyful Children’s Day celebration.
The event was a lively affair, featuring numerous performances from the students, including martial arts displays, group songs, and a colorful fancy dress show. An art area displayed student artwork, while food stalls offered a variety of treats, creating a festival-like atmosphere where parents, guardians, and children alike could relax and enjoy the day’s offerings.
The day captured the innocence and joy of the young performers, whose excitement and enthusiasm brought smiles to everyone in attendance. Through “Catharsis 0.2,” Soul House Academy not only celebrated children but also underscored the value of resilience, community, and creativity in the growth and development of young minds.
