The Sovima Village Council has imposed a curfew in the village vicinity from 10 pm, citing increasing incidents of theft of private and public property.
The curfew will come into effect from October 6 and remain in force until further notice, according to a notice issued by the council.
The council has requested citizens to report any suspicious activities to it and apologised for the inconvenience the restriction may cause to villagers and visitors.
In a separate warning, the council cautioned shops against selling expired goods. It said shops found selling expired commodities would be penalised and their trade licences revoked.
The notice was issued by Sovima Village Council chairman Sebastian-Zumvu.
