A Special Gram Sabha for the preparation of the Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP) 2027–28 under “Sabki Yojana, Sabka Vikas”, along with the launch of Reform Utsav, was held at the Rural Assembly Hall, Ungma Village, on Thursday.

The programme brought together Heads of Departments from various line departments and provided a platform for citizens to identify local development priorities and engage with officials on government schemes and services.
Ajay Moktan, IAS, SDO(C), Mokokchung, formally launched Reform Utsav and urged citizens to actively participate in the GPDP planning process by identifying and prioritising local needs. He also encouraged the public to submit suggestions and feedback under Reform Utsav, stating that community participation would help improve public service delivery and accountability.
Presentations on government schemes and services were made by the Rural Development, Social Welfare, Agriculture, Health and Family Welfare, and PHED departments, covering major programmes and updates on projects and services in the district.
A Jan Samvad, or People’s Consultation, led by Imyapangla, Project Director, DRDA, enabled citizens to interact directly with department heads and officials. Discussions covered public grievances, access to government schemes and services, benefits being delivered, ongoing development activities, and community feedback.
Imyapangla stressed the importance of community mobilisation, ownership and participation in development planning and implementation. She also acknowledged the support of Deputy Commissioner Ajit Kumar Verma, IAS, and participating departments and stakeholders.
