The Deputy Commissioner & District Election Officer (DC & DEO) Mokokchung, Thsuvisie Phoji, has informed all concerned parties about the program for the Special Summary Revision (SSR) of the Photo Electoral Roll with reference to January 1, 2025, as the qualifying date. The rationalization of polling stations will follow the detailed timeline below:
Pre-Revision Activities
1. Verification through BLOs: Rationalization and rearrangement of polling stations, removal of discrepancies in the electoral roll/EPIC, and improvement of image quality by replacing blurred or poor-quality photographs and non-human images. Recasting sections/parts, finalizing proposed restructuring of section/part boundaries, and approval of the list of polling stations. Identification of gaps, finalizing strategies and timelines to address these gaps, and updating the control table. These activities will be carried out from August 20, 2024, to October 18, 2024.
2. Preparation: Preparation of formats 1 to 8 and the integrated draft roll with reference to January 1, 2025, as the qualifying date will be completed from October 19, 2024, to October 28, 2024.
3. Revision Activities: Publication of the integrated draft electoral roll on October 29, 2024.
4. Claims and Objections: The period for filing claims and objections is from October 20, 2024, to November 28, 2024.
5. Special Campaign Dates: Special campaign dates on Saturdays and Sundays within the claims and objections period (to be fixed by the CEO).
6. Disposal of Claims and Objections: Claims and objections will be disposed of by December 24, 2024. Health parameters will be checked, and the commission’s permission for final publication will be obtained. The database will be updated, and supplements will be printed by January 1, 2025.
7. Final Publication: The final publication of the electoral roll will be on January 6, 2025.
All BLOs, Supervisors, and AEROs under Mokokchung District have been requested to adhere to the schedule as directed by the Commission.
