The Soyim Shuttlers, Ungma, Mokokchung is hosting the second edition of the Spring Badminton Championship 2022 at Babu Tzübo (Amphitheater), Ungma, Mokokchung which began with Temsuchuba Jamir, SDO (C), Mokokchung, gracing the opening ceremony.
He congratulated the Soyim Shuttlers for organising the tournament and providing a platform for upcoming players, particularly young shuttlers, to showcase their talents.
He stated that the tournament experience is entirely different due to the mental setup and the environment. He also urged the sister badminton organisations in Mokokchung to hold such tournaments.
He also stated that Mokokchung has a strong community of young talents who have the ability to reach even the national level. He concluded by stating that sports can be a career path. Alimayang Jamir, President of Soyim Shuttlers, proposed the welcome address.
The Championship has 66 participants, which includes 87 male and 9 female players representing the entire district of Mokokchung and some players from Kohima district. Altogether 61 matches will be played in various categories.
