St Joseph University signs MoU with RIS

St Joseph University, Nagaland, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS), a New Delhi-based autonomous policy research institute under the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India. The university is among 23 higher education institutions across the country to sign the agreement.


The MoU was formalized during the International Conference on “Global South and Triangular Cooperation: Emerging Facets,” held in New Delhi on June 3–4. The signing ceremony was attended by Professor Sachin Chaturvedi, Director General of RIS, and Dr. Moameren Pongen, Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at St. Joseph University, who represented the university.

According to the MoU, the partnership aims to promote collaborative research, knowledge sharing, and capacity building between RIS and participating universities. The collaboration will focus on key areas such as joint research projects, pooling of academic resources, and co-hosting seminars and conferences on global economic issues, climate change, and development finance.

Additional areas of cooperation outlined in the agreement include faculty exchange programmes, joint publications and research dissemination, and the exchange of scholarly materials.

“This partnership is expected to enhance institutional capacity, promote academic cooperation, and contribute to the region’s overall growth and development through meaningful knowledge exchange,” an update received from the university stated.
