A meeting between the Chief Secretary of Nagaland, Sentiyanger Imchen, IAS, and the representatives of the 5 Tribes CoRRP was held today at the Chief Secretary’s Conference Room, Nagaland Civil Secretariat, Kohima.
The meeting, held in response to an invitation extended on August 2, included a brief discussion on the core demands earlier raised by the 5 Tribes CoRRP and the State Government’s response so far.
According to the Chief Secretary, the State Cabinet is scheduled to hold a sitting on August 6, during which a final decision will be taken on the core demands. This includes the framing of the Terms of Reference and the composition of the proposed Commission, which the government aims to complete within the next fortnight.
In light of the upcoming Cabinet decision, the 5 Tribes CoRRP has agreed to keep its proposed third phase of agitation in abeyance, following a request from the State Government.
The statement was jointly signed by Er Tesinlo Semy (Convenor) and GK Zhimomi (Member Secretary) of the 5 Tribes CoRRP.
