Kohima, 13 September (MTNews): The State Level Ayushman Bhavah Campaign was launched by the Governor of Nagaland La Ganesan in the presence of the Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio at the Dr Imkongliba Ao Hall, Raj Bhavan, Kohima on 13 September 2023. The program was organized by the Department of Health & Family and also attended by the Deputy Chief Minister, Minister of Health and Family Welfare, other ministers, MLAs, Officials of the Health and Family Welfare etc. Earlier on the same day, the Governor, CM, Dy CM, Ministers and MLAs also joined the national-level virtual launching of the Ayushman Bhavah by the Hon’ble President of India Droupadi Murmu.

Speaking on the occasion, the Governor said that it is a revolutionary initiative aimed at providing healthcare accessible to every citizen of the country. The Governor stated that healthcare is a fundamental right of every individual and that, as a welfare state, no citizen should be deprived of this basic right due to financial constraints. The Governor further said that Ayushman Bhavah is a transformative initiative that aims to strengthen the healthcare system of the country and state. On the occasion, the Governor also gave away awards to various voluntary blood donors.

 

Chief minister Neiphiu Rio, who also spoke during the program, stated that this campaign will bring the state closer to the objective of achieving “Healthy Villages” based on the principle of “leaving no one behind.” He said that this is an important component of Sustainable Development Goals 2023. Rio also gave away certificates to Nikshay Mitras awardees.

 

 

6,12,415 PM-JAY Health Cards generated as of date

Minister H& FW said that Ayushman Bhavah Campaign is an umbrella consisting of three major components, namely, Ayushman Apke Dwar 3.0, Ayushman Mela, and Ayushman Sabha. He said that Nagaland has already generated and distributed 6,12,415 PM-JAY Health Cards covering 2,71,593 households as on date. He disclosed that a total of 13,782 claims were submitted by various hospitals amounting to Rs 32.63 crores and said that out of this, a total of Rs 24.29 crores have been paid for till date. The Health Minister also said that through the intervention of this scheme, out-of-pocket expenditure on hospitalization for 13,782 beneficiaries amounting to Rs 24.29 crores have been prevented. He also further urged the people of Nagaland to actively take part in the Ayushman Bhavah campaign and avail the various health schemes.

A Pledge for Organ Donation was also read out by the participants. The program was conducted by Thejangunuo Theunuo and Kikasangla.

 

 

Mokokchung District launches ‘Ayushman Bhavah’

Along with the rest of the country, ‘Ayushman Bhavah’ was launched today in Mokokchung by Ajit Kumar, IAS Probationer, at the Conference Hall, Office of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Mokokchung, in the presence of the CMO Mokokchung, Medical Superintendent, Mokokchung, Dy. Chief Medical Officer, Programme Officers, Staff of CMO, Church members, and representatives from line departments and civil society.

The chief guest, Ajit Kumar, while addressing the participants, highlighted that the Ayushman Bhavah Campaign is a comprehensive nationwide initiative to achieve universal health coverage, reaching every village and town in the country, ensuring that no one is left behind.

 

The campaign will run for a fortnight from 17 September to 2 October 2023, during which several health activities will be carried out.

 

 

Ayushman Bhavah will have three main components:

Ayushman Apke Dwar – for the creation and distribution of Ayushman cards to all remaining eligible beneficiaries.

Ayushman Mela – which will be conducted at the level of Health and Wellness Centres and Community Health Centres, offering services such as NCD screening, TB screening, mother & child health nutrition, elderly care, etc.

Ayushman Sabha – to be held on the 2 October 2023 which will create awareness about various healthcare schemes and services at the village/ward level and will lead to the formation of Village Health, Sanitation, and Nutrition Committee (VHSNC).

 

During the launching program, certificates of appreciation were presented to all Nikshay Mitras. It may be noted that there are 36 Nikshay Mitras registered in the district, and they are supporting 120 TB patients by providing nutritional supplements every month.
