State-level faculty development program held at Dimapur Govt College

A one-week State Level Faculty Development Program (FDP) under the theme ‘Envisioning Learning Spectrum’ was successfully held from November 7 to 13, 2024, at Dimapur Government College (DGC). The event was organized by the NAAC Steering Committee and Research & Development Cell of DGC, in collaboration with the Directorate of Higher Education, Government of Nagaland, and in association with Bank of Baroda, Dimapur. The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of DGC supported the program.

The FDP began with an inaugural session chaired by Sedevino Jakhalu, Head of the Department of Political Science at DGC. The welcome address was delivered by Vinyuhu Lhoungu, Coordinator of the IQAC. The program covered ten sessions focusing on various professional and educational domains, with resource persons from diverse fields leading the discussions.

The sessions included topics such as “Artificial Intelligence Tools in Teaching & Learning” by Daniel Meren, Additional Director at NIELIT, Dimapur; “Entrepreneurship” by Lezo Putsure, Founder and CEO of Educentre School of Business, Dimapur; and “Career Progression in Higher Education” by I. Wati Imchen, Principal of FAC, Mokokchung. Other sessions covered subjects like SWAYAM NPTEL Awareness, Professional Ethics and Accountability, Teaching Skills, Mental Health and Hygiene, and more.

Each session concluded with interactive discussions, allowing participants to engage directly with the resource persons. The FDP concluded with a valedictory program chaired by Moamongla Aier, Department of Political Science, DGC. Certificates were awarded to the participants, and the vote of thanks was delivered by Hare Krushna Parhi, Department of Education, DGC.
