Kohima, 7 May (MTNews): A state-level two-day review cum workshop on Reproductive Maternal Neonate Child Adolescent Health and Nutrition (RMNCAH+N) commenced on 7 May at the IDSP Hall, Directorate of Health & Family Welfare, Nagaland.
Welcoming the District RCH/ Immunisation Officers and the District Program Managers (NHM), Dr Khelito Zhimomi, State Program Officer, RMNCAH+N, said that the review aims to address district-level problems, find optimal solutions, and propel the program forward. She expressed hope that districts would learn from each other’s best practices.
Addressing the District representatives present, Dr Akuo Sorhie, Mission Director, National Health Mission (NHM), highlighted the crucial role of RMNCAH+N in the National Health Mission and the Department’s operations. She attributed the positive upward trend in performance indicators in NFHS-4 & 5 (National Family Health Survey) to the dedication of District Program Officers and their staff. However, Dr Akuo noted the need for improvement in critical key performance indicators such as ANC registration, institutional delivery, and full immunization. She emphasized the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare’s holistic approach through RMNCAH+N to ensure optimal healthcare for mothers and children and urged District Program Officers to prioritize these activities equally.
Dr Akuo Sorhie expressed hope that the two days would provide insight into the status of key performance indicators under the National Health Mission, enabling critical action planning and addressing gaps and challenges. She encouraged officers to recommit themselves and work diligently to achieve targets.
Dr Longri Kichu presented the State’s Key Performance Indicators, followed by district-level performance presentations.
The workshop will include discussions on Anemia Mukt Bharat, SUMAN, Laqshya, MusQan, key child health activities, High-Risk Pregnancy (HRP) tracking, ePMSMA, RBSK, and Adolescent Health over the two days.
