The Executive Meeting of the State Mahila Morcha was held in Longmikaba, Mangkolemba (Org) District, on 8 August 2024, with all District Mahila Presidents and General Secretaries, State Executive Members, and Special Invitees in attendance.
State Mahila President Shanbeni Yanthan, in her speech, emphasized the importance of strengthening the party organization, fulfilling duties and responsibilities as party karyakartas, and noted that the BJP is a cadre-based party. She urged all Mahila workers to work with utmost sincerity and dedication. She also praised the PDA government led by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio for the successful implementation of 33% reservation for women in urban local bodies during the recent Town and Municipal elections in Nagaland.
The house also adopted a 3-point resolution during its meeting. The meeting resolved to extend full support to the double-engine PDA government under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and Deputy Chief Minister & BLP Leader Y Patton.
It also resolved to extend congratulatory note to all the elected women councilors in the recently concluded ULB Election.
Further, the house unanimously resolved to advocate for women empowerment by actively participating in all economic, social and political activities which is a pre-requisite for comprehensive development and progress of the State and the Nation as a whole.
The State Mahila Executive Meeting was chaired by Caroline Patton, President of BJPMM, Wokha. The welcome address was delivered by Tali Imchen, District President of Mangkolemba. State Spokesperson Bendangyanger gave a short speech, while State Spokesperson Therali Ezung moved for the adoption of the resolutions during the meeting. State Mahila Secretary Swapana Dewan presented the report on behalf of the State Mahila Morcha, and Mangkolemba District Mahila President Amenla Longchar gave the vote of thanks.
The second session was chaired by Mon District Mahila President Suzzane Konyak, during which the State Mahila President presented awards for the best three performing districts: Mon, Wokha, and Zunheboto.
