The Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) of the Government of Nagaland has launched Digital Payment services across the state with the aim of transitioning all service and delivery transactions to an IT platform. This initiative was introduced in collaboration with HDFC Bank and was inaugurated on July 19, 2024, at the Transport Commissionerate in Kohima.
“This initiative will enhance transparency, operational efficiency, and the speed of service processes, thereby improving delivery and citizen convenience. It will also strengthen the Department’s ability to serve the citizens better,” said a DIPR report.
Commissioner & Secretary Dr Zasekuolie Chusi, IAS, launched the service on behalf of the Government, in the presence of Transport Commissioner Elias T Lotha and officials from HDFC Bank, led by Cluster Head Lansingam Panmei.
Dr Zasekuolie Chusi stated that the initiative represents another milestone in leveraging technology for governance and public service. He emphasized the importance of a meticulous approach to continually upgrading working methods and systems, ultimately achieving complete digitization of transactions and services.
With the launching of this service, citizens can now transact digitally the taxes and fees relating to motor vehicles services with Debit Card, Credit Card, UPI QR Code along with Google Pay, PhonePe and Paytm.
