The 3-day inaugural programme of the annual sports meet of Straightway Higher Secondary School was held at the Assam Rifles Ground on Wednesday, with ITI Principal, Er. Imlisunep Ao, as the special guest.

“In his brief exhortation, the special guest, Er. Imlisunep Ao, described the much-awaited event (sports week) as beautiful, reflecting the school’s shared values of faith, perseverance, and the pursuit of excellence—principles that lie at the very heart of the school’s motto, ‘Way to Life.’ Er. Imlisunep Ao stated, “As you participate in sports, remember that it’s not solely about winning. Each event teaches you the values of teamwork, discipline, and the importance of supporting one another.”

He encouraged the students to emerge from this sports week as champions and leaders with integrity, determination, and resilience, willing to offer service to society.

The event was inaugurated by the special guest, Er. Imlisunep Ao, and the function was chaired by Talijungla, while the invocation was delivered by Kikarenla. A special song was presented by Limatemshi (Cl-ZII), and the Lord’s Prayer was led by Kitimen (Cl-IV). The oath of participation for the Yellow, Green, Blue, and Red houses was taken by the School Captain, Lovito T. Shohe.
