Mokokchung, March 5 (MTNews): A street play on cleanliness and hygiene organized by Dr. Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital was held outside IMDH premises and Hotel Savoury premises today.

 

Medical Superintendent of IMDH, Dr. Limatula, said the play was enacted by IMDH Nursing students as part of an outreach program to encourage sanitation and hygiene. “It is the need of the hour as lockdown norms are getting relaxed,” she added.

 

Dr. Sunep, Senior Medical Officer, also asserted that it is a skit to promote hygiene and cleanliness in Mokokchung.

The play highlighted on the importance of hand sanitation, diseases caused by open defecation, germs from stagnant water, separation of wet and dry waste, use of proper channels during the disposal of septic waste, effects of improper waste disposal and importance of safe drinking water.

 

During the play, the participants urged the audience to utilize in day to day life the lessons acquired from the play and also requested the combined contribution from the audience to educate others on cleanliness and hygiene to make the society cleaner.
