Kohima, December 7 (MTNews): Sedevizo Keretsü defended his title as Nagaland’s strongest man for the third time today in the 5th edition of the Hornbill International Strongman and Crossfit (Men & Women) tournament held at Old NST Kohima.
The event is part of the Hornbill Festival 2022, which is organized by the Nagaland Strongman & Fitness Association (NSFA) in collaboration with the Nagaland Tourism Department.
Keretsü dominated all segments of the event to defend his title, including truck pulling, deadlift, shoulder press, log lift, log race, farmers walk, tyre flip, and Naga stone.
He was awarded prize money of Rs. 30,000 and citation while Manipur’s Vikas Usham finished second and won Rs 20,000; Kevipi Linyü finished third and received Rs 10,000.
Bisekhoto Gwirie defended his title as the fittest man in Naga crossfit for the second time, with Imliyanger Aier in second place and Kiivemiiri Ringa in third. The winner received Rs. 30,000, second place received Rs. 20,000, and third place received Rs. 10,000.
Burpees, clean and jerk, chin up, log lift squats, dumbbell front raise, deadlift, and box jump were all part of the Naga Crossfit challenge for both men and women.
Machen won the Naga Crossfit Women’s division, followed by Hatuleiphal Smalun in second and Imsubenla in third. The winner received Rs. 15,000, second received Rs. 10,000, and third received Rs. 7000.
Seyiengunyu, 16, was the competition’s youngest contestant.
