The Sumi Baptist Church Kohima Ministers Hill Fellowship observed Mission Sunday on May 4, 2025, with Atoshili Zhimomi, a mission donor, as the guest speaker. In her sermon, Zhimomi emphasized the principle of four conditions for forgiveness of sin by God and living a true Christian life. She stated that if we repent before God, He will release our sins and bless us, citing Jesus’ unconditional love for believers. Zhimomi highlighted the importance of loving and forgiving one another among Christian believers. She stressed the need for believers to put Bible teachings into practice in their daily lives, serving and extending God’s Kingdom in various walks of life.

Referring to the book of Matthew, Zhimomi said the first condition is to forgive others so that God will forgive us. Forgiving others in Christian life is essential for every believer. Zhimomi emphasized that when believers confess their sins, God is faithful and just to forgive and cleanse them from unrighteousness. She said that when believers leave their sinful ways, come to Christ, and repent, Jesus forgives their sins.
Zhimomi stressed that living an ordinary Christian life is not enough; believers must put biblical teachings into practice daily to receive God’s forgiveness and rewards. She encouraged the congregation to recognize that Jesus calls us to serve in diverse capacities. While not everyone may be a pastor, missionary, or part of a traditional ministry, each person can contribute in meaningful ways through prayer, financial support, or simply visiting those in need. By partnering with God in His ministry, we can experience miracles in our lives she added.
Drawing from her personal experience, she shared how God’s intervention brought unexpected blessings to her family when she was involved in ministry work. Emphasizing God’s faithfulness, she reassured the congregation that He is always present, even in times of uncertainty, and that supporting His work will never be fruitless. She challenged the congregation to live authentically as followers of Christ, pursuing a life that honors Him in every aspect.
The sermon served as a reminder to the congregation of the importance of living a life of forgiveness, service, and devotion to God. Through her message, Zhimomi inspired the congregation to deepen their faith and commitment to Christ.
