Sümi Patriots Day, held annually to honor the Patriots on the death anniversary of the late General Kaito Sukhai, was commemorated on August 4 at the Sümi Patriots Memorial Rock in Zunheboto. Leaders from various Sümi organizations gathered to pay homage to the Sümi Patriots.
The program was led by Sümi Hoho Vice President Kikheto Muru. Following the floral tribute and obituary reference, short speeches were delivered by Sümi Hoho President Dr Vihuto Asumi and Sümi Kükami Hoho President Hetoho Zhimomi. The vote of thanks was given by Sümi Kiphimi Küqhakulu Assistant General Secretary Pito Swu. A prayer for the Patriots and Sümi leaders was led by Associate Pastor Agape Chishi of the Sümi Baptist Church Zunheboto.
