Supongmeren Jamir, Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) from Nagaland, has met Union Home Minister Amit Shah at his office on March 25.

During the meeting, Jamir and Shah held deliberations on the need for an early and inclusive political settlement to the long-pending Naga political issue. The discussion focused on the aspirations and sentiments of the Naga people and stressed the importance of arriving at a peaceful and honourable solution.

The MP also raised concerns regarding the Free Movement Regime and urged the Ministry of Home Affairs to carefully consider the views and demands of the Naga people, particularly in safeguarding the interests of communities residing along the border areas of Nagaland.

Issues related to the development and upgradation of village guards were also discussed during the meeting.

Jamir expressed hope for constructive action and reaffirmed his commitment to continue advocating for the rights and welfare of the Naga people.
