Indore, October 16: Nagaland batsman Rongsen Jonathan got hit wicket during the league stage fixture of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. The right-handed batsman hit a boundary but had to depart as he went deep inside his crease and made contact with the stumps.
He mistakenly hit the wicket when the ball was on its way to the boundary ropes. Jonathan looked in form but had to depart for a well-made 45 off 39 against a strong Andhra Pradesh side.
Courtesy of Jonathan’s 45 and Shrikant Mundhe’s unbeaten 91, Nagaland put up a total of 169/4 on the board.
For Andhra Pradesh, Ashwin Hebbar scored 51 off 25 while Ricky Bhui and Shaik Rasheed made vital contributions as they chased down the target with one over and 5 wickets in hand. This was the first win of the season for AP while Nagaland has lost all their 4 matches so far.
