The Sumi Youth Organization (SYO) has summoned two Facebook users identified as ‘Dorzen Ayemi’ and ‘Chishi Official’ for allegedly making divisive and derogatory remarks on social media following the recently concluded Dr T Ao Trophy match between Mon and Niuland teams.

In a notice issued by its Public Grievances Cell, SYO stated that the remarks were “detrimental to the spirit of unity and brotherhood among our people” and in violation of Resolution No. 1, adopted on August 5, 2024 at Hotel Japfu, Kohima. The resolution specifically addresses actions that incite hatred, disturb public tranquility, or provoke enmity between tribes.

SYO directed the two users to appear before its office in Zunheboto on August 23, 2025 at 11:00 AM for necessary clarification and to show cause why action should not be taken against them.

The organization maintained that the issue warrants immediate attention, as it goes against efforts to uphold peace and harmony among communities.
