The Tsütuonuomia Khel Council of Kohima Village organized a “Felicitation Program” for its elected Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) Councilors on July 24, 2024, at Tsütuo Hall. The program honored the newly elected councilors: Kevinei-ü Sekhose, Thejavizo Philip Solo, Medoviu Martin Suohu, and Neibodzelie Solo.

During the event, Kevinei-ü Sekhose appealed to the Tsütuonuomia Khel to continue their support in developing her ward. She emphasized the importance of voter enrollment, encouraging all town settlers to register in the next voter inclusion drive. Thejavizo Philip Solo pledged to work towards justice and truth, while Medoviu Martin Suohu assured that he would do his utmost for the welfare of society. Suohu also challenged individuals interested in the business sector to come forward and collaborate. Neibodzelie Solo echoed these sentiments, committing to work for the development and betterment of society.

The program was chaired by K Neibou Sekhose, Chairman of the T Khel Council. Kezhakietuo Belho, Associate Pastor of Khedi Baptist Church, invoked God’s blessings, and Peter Phewhuo, President of the Tsütuonuomia Khel Organization Kohima (TGOK), delivered the welcome address.

Helievi-o Solo, Chairman of the Kohima Village Council, congratulated the elected councilors and urged them to adhere to principles of justice and truth. He stressed on the importance of following the Municipal Act and developing basic necessities under the Kohima Municipal Area 2023, regardless of party affiliations. Solo also stressed the right of all settlers under the Kohima Municipal Area to be included as voters and challenged the councilors to scrutinize trade licenses and take necessary action against illegal trade.
