The Tenyimi Union Dimapur (TUD) celebrated its Golden Jubilee at the DDSC Stadium, Dimapur, preceded by the dedication and unveiling of the Jubilee monolith at the Tenyimi Complex by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, and the release of balloons and a souvenir by Deputy Chief Minister TR Zeliang.

Chief Minister Rio congratulated the Union for completing 50 years of unity and brotherhood and lauded its role in preserving the shared heritage, language, and cultural values of the Tenyimi community. He emphasized that unity must remain the community’s greatest strength, stating, “Our collective hopes and dreams as Nagas must be guided by this spirit of togetherness.”

Rio also touched upon the status of the four non-Naga tribes in Nagaland, clarifying their eligibility under the Scheduled Tribes Order of 1970, and highlighted the state’s efforts to strengthen the Inner Line Permit system through the Online ILP Portal. He called for reconciliation, unity, and oneness, urging all Nagas to “move forward with determination, conviction, and compassion.”

Deputy Chief Minister Zeliang described the Jubilee as both a celebration and reflection on shared history, while Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu underlined the significance of Tenyidie in preserving Naga identity. Manipur MLA Losil Dikho reaffirmed support for promoting Tenyidie among the youth.

The event featured cultural presentations and the announcement of new TUD office bearers, with Thepfuneituo Rio as President and Anilo Rengma as General Secretary.
