Tenyimi Union Nagaland (TUN) observed its first foundation day today, hosted by Kohima Village Council at Kohima Village VDB Hall, Ziekiezou, Kohima, with calls for unity among the Naga people. President of Angami Public Organization and Convenor of the Advisory Board of TUN, Razouvotuo Chatsu, addressed the event, emphasizing that the five tribal bodies of the Tenyimi in Nagaland — Angami, Chakhesang, Pochury, Rengma, and Zeliang — came together to form the Tenyimi Union Nagaland last year.

Chatsu highlighted the rich legacy and achievements of the Tenyimi forefathers, who were revered as guides and leaders known for their decision-making abilities. He urged present-day leaders to reflect on this legacy and strive to reclaim their past glories rather than resting on them.

President of Tenyimi Women Union Nagaland, Zhonelu Tunyi, pointed out the upcoming Urban Local Bodies (ULB) elections with 33 percent reservation for women. She encouraged the constituent units of TUN to elect suitable candidates who can effectively represent their respective wards.
