The Terogvunyu Van Dhan Vikas Kendra (VDVK) launched its programme along with the distribution of tools and machinery on November 17 at Terogvunyu village in Tseminyu district. The project is implemented by the Nagaland Beekeeping and Honey Mission (NBHM) under the PMJVM scheme.

The event was inaugurated by Obed Quinker, Chairman of the Nagaland Beekeeping and Honey Mission. Addressing the gathering, the Special Guest stated that while the project may appear small, it has the potential to bring meaningful change. He reminded participants that forests and fields are valuable assets and urged the community to make responsible use of available resources to enhance livelihoods. He called on members to make sincere use of government schemes and encouraged Terogvunyu village to set an example for successful implementation.

He also highlighted the village’s unique advantage of having an apitherapy facility and stressed that whether in beekeeping or any other profession, individuals must work with seriousness, commitment and purpose.

Nzanbemo K Lotha informed that since beekeeping is seasonal, other Minor Forest Produce have been integrated to ensure year-round income generation. Project Coordinator Mhathung T Tsopoe outlined key features of the PMJVM scheme.
