On the occasion of the re-affirmation and declaration of the NSCN/GPRN Collective Leadership – Chairman, Vice-Chairman and General Secretary on March 20, 2025
On this auspicious day, the twentieth of March, 2025 I am thankful to God Almighty and the members and the rank and file of the National Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN) for reaffirming the leadership of the Collective leadership, NSCN/GPRN. I am thankful to God the Almighty for I humbly understand that according to the holy scriptures, “exaltation comes neither from the east nor from the west nor from the south. But God is the Judge: He puts down one, and exalts another” Psalm 75: 6-7 and it is He who changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings;” Daniel 3: 21. I will praise and thank God forever for His faithfulness.
I know that for every generation God chooses a person within His will and purpose. And for Nagalim God chose people like Uncle Phizo and Imkongmeren at the right time. Under their leadership ‘Nagalim belongs to the Nagas and the right of the Nagas to decide their own future is inalienable’ has been the mission statement of Nagalim. Today, together with my late friend Isak Chishi Swu and Khadao Yanthan, I am proud to be a part of my Naga people’s history and I am committed for the freedom and sovereignty of Nagalim, come what may. The right to decide one’s own freedom is the sovereign right of the Naga people given by the God Almighty. This sovereign birthright is non-negotiable.
Nagalim is also indebted to the countless freedom fighters and fearless Generals like Thinoselie M. Keyho and committed soldiers like Capt. Phungtha who fired the first shot in Wung Tangkhul Region. President Scato Swu and Ato Kilonser Sukhai were also some of the tall leaders in Nagalim national independence movement. Time and space restrain me to mention several others but it is historical fact that no Naga tribe and family has failed to dedicate and sacrifice their sons and daughters for Nagalim national freedom struggle. The good Lord will remember, bless and reward them all.
I am deeply indebted to the Naga people, including the Naga tribes and all the civil societies, wherever they are, and the international community who supports the Nagalim national independence and liberation movement. In the early years of Nagalim national independence and liberation movement China was substantially responsible for the success of our national struggle and today to everyone who supports the Nagalim national independence and liberation movement I wish to reiterate that ‘We will pay back what you have done for us but in terms of victory’. On behalf of Nagalim and the Naga people I also proclaim that we will not surrender our unique history and our sovereignty whether in the battle field or in the negotiating table.
I am thankful to God Almighty for using an obscure person like me and many others within His plan and purpose for the Naga nation. Not that we are able but it is Christ in us who has sustained us and led us all these years. Who am I? who are we? therefore, I praise and thank the God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel who is faithful and has not failed Nagalim and the Naga people.
In spite of the several disappointments in our national struggle our God Almighty has been faithful to Nagalim and the Naga people. Today, in the ongoing political negotiation between the Government of India (Gol) and the National Socialist Council of Nagalim(NSCN), Nagalim unique history and sovereignty have been officially recognized and acknowledged in the Amsterdam Joint communiqué of July 11, 2002 and the Framework agreement of August 3, 2015. Let me assure the Naga people that the final political agreement shall be a negotiated political settlement that is according to the letter and spirit of the Amsterdam Joint communiqué of July 11, 2002 and the Framework agreement of August 3, 2015. Therefore, the sovereign Nagalim national flag and the sovereign Nagalim national constitution shall be an integral part of the political agreement. Together with the sovereign Nagalim national flag and the sovereign Nagalim national constitution, the sovereign Nagalim territory is also non-negotiable.
My Dear Naga people, God’s sovereignty overrules all human thinking, plans and history. And I know that in the end we shall overcome within God’s perfect will and purpose. We hope in faith that His will shall be done for Nagalim. And it is for us to believe in the sovereign purpose and promise of God for Nagalim and the Naga people. The scripture also assures us that: “For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.” Habakkuk 2:3.
God bless you all.
