A training workshop on organic farming was successfully organized by The Green Caravan, a service provider for the Mission Organic Value Chain Development for North Eastern Region (MOVCDNER) Phase 4, under the Department of Agriculture, Government of Nagaland.
The event, held on October 25 and 26 at the SDAO Office in Baghty, aimed to empower farmers from 11 villages, including Baghty Town, Upper Baghty, Soku, Makharon, Nitsuyan, Sanis, Meahangpen, Tsopo, Yonchucho, Sunglup, and Lakhuti. These villages form the Lotha Middle Range Farmers Producer Company Limited, established under MOVCDNER Phase 4.

The technical session covered essential aspects of organic farming, including the National Programme for Organic Production (NPOP) guidelines and management of the Internal Control System (ICS) at the farmer level. Farmers were also briefed on market trends to strengthen linkages for their organic produce.
Participants actively engaged in discussions on crop-related issues and explored ways to improve yields through organic practices. The workshop concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Chumyani Ovung, Agriculture Officer, expressing gratitude for the valuable knowledge shared with the farming community.
