The ability to feel guilty can be a good thing, if it doesn’t get out of hand.

Guilt can serve as a self-imposed guidance system to keep us from doing what we shouldn’t do.

Imagine what society would be like if there were no such thing as guilt. People doing whatever they want, whenever they want to do it, without giving single thought to how their actions would affect others.

It doesn’t take Too much imagination to picture how difficult it would be to live in society like that. Guilt is not always a good thing, however, it can be very destructive – a load that is impossible to carry a burden that can cause men and women to stagger far off the path they ought to follow.

The Bible speaks of “Godly sorrow” which lead to death. In other words, guilt is handed in the right way- that is admitted and dealt with – can be a corrective measures in a person’s life. A catalyst spurring the guilty on to the greater strength and achievement. But guilt that is left unattended will fester like a splinter left in a finger and cause all kind of problems.it is also likely to be the root of all sorts of aberrational behaviour – behaviour that begins as an attempt to hide from guilt and the pain it causes.

Is there something this big in your life that you need to confess ?. Probably not. But we have all been guilty of wrong doing from time to time. After all, we’re only human and human beings make mistakes. When we do make mistakes, Confession to God, ourselves and others is tremendously important.

Seek out someone you can trust, with whom you can have an open Confession relationship. Whatever you do, don’t just sit there and think, well I don’t have anymore to confess to. So I guess he’s not talking to me. Yes I am talking to you and you need to have someone to talk to.

Modern psychology back me up in this, the human soul has a strong need to confess to another human soul.
