In an intense final match between two of Nagaland’s best volleyball teams, MH-10 Kohima (Senior) and Changtongya Volleyball Association ‘A’ (CVA) contested for the championship title at the 1st Imonungba Memorial Nagaland Open Volleyball Trophy organized by the Changtongya Volleyball Association (CVA) and powered by Lenjeter, a monthly Ao Magazine, where CVA ‘A’ lifted the title against their arch opponents at Public Ground, Changtongya on Thursday.

MH-10, who had previously won the two final encounters against CVA ‘A’ earlier this year in the 15th Master Imchaba Memorial Nagaland Open Volleyball Trophy and Luke Sasong Memorial Volleyball Trophy 2022, gave a valiant fight but were defeated by the CVA side at the latter’s home turf.
Starting the first set of the contest, both teams demonstrated resilience by returning smashes and exchanging volleys, delivering flamboyant efforts. A head-to-head score line demonstrated the teams’ commitment to win the championship. However, MH-10 were unable to win the deuce as the mammoth Changtongya crowd cheering for the home side boosted the morale of the CVA side to eventually win the set with a score line of 39/37.
CVA went two up by winning the second set with yet another close margin, this time with a score line of 25/22 capitalizing on the home ground advantage and exhibiting a class act. MH-10 did make several excellent shots in attempts to win the set but lost narrowly.
In a do-or-die third set, MH-10 overcame a seemingly fatigued CVA side with straight aces in the lines, winning the set quick with a score line of 25/18 and keeping their title dreams alive.
With nothing to lose, the CVA went all out in the fourth set of the contest, leaving no stone unturned and rendering MH-10’s third set win go to waste as the home side went on to ultimately overcome the visitors MH-10 and win the set with a score line of 25/21 – and the tournament – after coming second best in two consecutive finals between them at two separate tournaments.
The champions CVA ‘A’ were presented with trophy, citations and monetary award of Rs.80,000; Runners up MH-10 (Senior) were presented with citations and monetary award of Rs.40,000 while the two semifinalist- MH-10 (Junior) and Tuli Volleyball Team were presented cash prizes of Rs.10,000 each.
The individual awards of the tournament were presented to: Sarilepzung from CVA ‘A’ for Best Setter; Imkongsanen from CVA ‘A’ for Best Spiker; and Temsülong Walling from Yimyu for Best Libero while Hayika from MH-10 (Senior) was named Player of the Tournament.
Earlier, Mayang Lima, Upa-Lokayukta, Nagaland while attending the closing program as the chief guest expressed his appreciation to all eleven teams’ involvement in the tournament and added that he hopes to see more teams participate in the event in the days to come.
He said that one of the most benefiting outcomes of such tournaments would be the making of national and international players from the state. “Teamwork is the most important component of a game,” he said while urging the participants to create relationships with the expanding globalized society.
He applauded the two finalists as well as all of the teams that took part, and encouraged the players to train constantly in the spirit of sportsmanship while keeping discipline and making use of their abilities.
The final match was also graced by Imnatiba Jamir, MLA & Advisor, Industries & Commerce, Labour & Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Government of Nagaland as chief host.

One thing I would like to say is the fact car insurance cancellation is a dreadful experience and if you’re doing the right things being a driver you won’t get one. Lots of people do are sent the notice that they are officially dumped by their particular insurance company and many have to fight to get additional insurance from a cancellation. Low-priced auto insurance rates are frequently hard to get after the cancellation. Understanding the main reasons pertaining to auto insurance canceling can help individuals prevent losing one of the most crucial privileges offered. Thanks for the ideas shared through your blog.
